Kelly Nwachuku-Lavelle

of ElleSolaire – Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative Ltd.  Following a ten-year career in investment banking and international business, Kelly discovered a deep personal connection with gender issues and became a passionate advocate for women’s empowerment through entrepreneurship during five years spent living and working in Saudi Arabia.  Kelly’s focus turned to energy poverty and its effects on rural African women during three years living in Senegal.   Kelly is committed to delivering sustainable women-led solutions to energy poverty, helping to combat gender inequity, with an action research based approach underpinning her work.

Kelly has been a Research Fellow of the Ashridge Centre for Action Research and Author of ‘Giving Voice to Women Entrepreneurs in Saudi Arabia’.  Kelly holds an MSc in Business Responsibility and Practice and a BSc in International Management and French from the University of Bath, U.K.  Kelly is British – fluent in French, Spanish and Italian – mother of three small children and has a passion for nature and outdoor mountain exploits.
